APC Enugu suspends chairman and 3 others for anti-party activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has suspended its chairman, Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, and three other executive committee members over alleged anti-party activities.

The state APC Publicity Secretary, Chief Micheal Ezeanyanwu, disclosed this at a press briefing on Saturday in Enugu.

He said executive committee members had passed a motion of no confidence in their colleagues following their anti-party activities.

He said: “We, the members of the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Enugu State hereby pass a motion of no confidence in Chief Ugochukwu Agballah (state Chairman), Chief Augustine Alumonah (State Vice Chairman).

“The others are Mr Jude Aniogbo (State Treasurer) and Mr Emeka Eze (State Executive Secretary) and they are hereby suspended from the party.

“Our decision is based on a series of acts of abuse of office, usurpation of power, formation of factional management, and unconstitutional dismissal of party management.

“Others include incitement to create a crisis in the party in several local governments, etc. committed by the mentioned officials against the party.”

He said the party chairman had been running party affairs like a personal business since his inauguration.
