APC New Media Directorate Calls for Immediate Action by INEC and IGP Over Illegal Collection of Voter Cards by PDP Agent

The APC New Media Directorate has uncovered a disturbing development involving a top PDP operative and is calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take immediate action. A viral post circulating online reveals that a former Edo State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, known as Madam Megom of Ovia, was caught illegally collecting INEC voter cards from voters in exchange for money. In a damning photograph, she is seen wearing a crested cap bearing the name of PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, while committing the despicable act.

This flagrant violation of the electoral process raises a critical question: when did PDP agents become de facto INEC personnel? We demand that INEC take swift and decisive action to recover the voter cards illegally obtained by Madam Megom and initiate criminal proceedings without delay. Electoral misconduct of this nature must be met with the full force of the law. We further urge the IGP to arrest this individual and ensure that he is brought to justice, preventing his actions from compromising the integrity of the electoral process.

We also call on the good people of Edo State to recognize how the PDP, under the failed leadership of Governor Obaseki, is attempting to subvert our democracy. A government that has failed to deliver even the most basic dividends of democracy, such as job creation, infrastructural development and essential public services, is now seeking to extend its mandate through electoral fraud. The electorate must reject Asue Ighodalo and the desperate and underhanded tactics of the PDP, which seek to mortgage the future of Edo State for a pittance.

The APC remains steadfast in its commitment to free, fair and transparent elections that reflect the true will of the people. We will not tolerate any action that undermines this process. We call on all well-meaning citizens to remain vigilant and firmly oppose any attempt by the PDP to derail our democracy.
