There is no doubt, politics concerns interests. It implies giving and taking, also involves alignments and realignments, adjustments and compromises here and there. It is also a game of victory and loss.
That’s why some scholars describe politics as a complex game created only for the strong heart and for those with flexible hearts since, according to them, the moment in which politics is combined, one must learn to forgive quickly because today his opponent could be his best ally tomorrow.
Another more interesting part of politics is that the loyalist faithful of a group, association or political party are rewarded for their loyalty, loyalty and contribution to the debt -time party.
The current move and intrigues in the All Progressives Congress sentence (APC) in relation to the party presidency position has attracted the attention of most political observers and analysts of the country.
While the clandestine consultations and moves in preparation for the general elections of 2027 had started since then, the APC has also been mapping the plans to ensure that it maintains power, especially in the center, 2027 arrives.
This led to the speculations that made the tour that suggest that the party’s presidency position could return to the northern part of the country, to keep millions of voters in that region.
Considering that the APC is made up of many blocks, political analysts believe that the blocking of the congress for progressives (CPC) must be compensated and calmed by the position of the party presidency.
This, they say, is necessary, to prevent them from leaving the APC to join the new coalition of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) which is gradually mobilizing to challenge the current president and possibly take power from the center.
Many members of the APC have, since the last few days, aiming for their hands towards the emergence of one of the key actors in the CPC block and a faithful and loyal member of the APC-the Senator Tanko al-Makura.
Senator Al-Makura was the eight-year-old governor of the state of Nasarawa. He won his first term with CPC and won the second term on the APC platform.
It is also worth remembering that Senator Al-Makura contested the presidency of the APC when the mandate of his partner Adams Oshiomhole passed, but fate instead did that Senator Abdullahi Adamu, from the same state with Senator Al-Makura, obtained the position of the presidency.
At present, many believe that it is time to reward the senator al-Makura and the CPC block giving him the presidency of the APC.
The senator Al-Makura, in the political circle, is qualified and competent to lead the ship of the APC to success in the 2027 elections because, it was a key player in Nigerian politics directly from the second Republic.
It is worth noting that Senator Al-Makura actively participated in managing the affairs of the then National Party of Nigeria (NPN), which was the dominant political party in Nigeria during the Second Republic (1979-1983) when he served as a youth leader.
Since then, Senator Al-Makura has been in partisan politics and has held very important party positions over the years. He was elected in the Constituent Assembly, representing the Federal Electoral College of Lafia -Obi in 1988-1989.
Senator Al-Makura was secretary of the National Republican Convention (NRC), Plateau State, since 1990-1992 and has been the founding member of the Democratic Party of people (PDP) in the state of Nasarawa.
In the eighty years of his mandate as a governor of the state of Nasarawa, Senator Al-Makura has shown to all that is a politician who considers both the interest of his party and that of his people in addition to all other personal interests.
The way in which he managed the house of the Assembly dominated by the PDP and the intrigues that lead to the drama of impeachment in the then house have also left his haters in shock to date.
In those eight events years of governor of the state of Nasarawa, Al-Makura has shown that he is, in fact, blessed with the ability and wisdom of managing the crisis.
The former governor Al-Makura has also demonstrated his talent and the ability to manage the crisis even at the party level at national level. He demonstrated this when he was assigned to direct the peace and reconciliation committee for the North -est following a crisis deriving from the primary of the Governorate of the APC.
In all six geo-political areas, the North-East has the greatest aspiring of the Governorate, but in a short time, Senator Al-Makura has been able to reconcile and restore peace in the north-east EPC with everyone’s satisfaction and admiration.
Senator Al-Makura reached another company in Ekiti, similar to the one he got for APC in the north-east. In the warmth of the harsh rivalry between countless aspiring governors in the Epc of Ekiti, Al-Makura was invited by the national leadership of the party to resolve the confusion by conducting the APC primaries.
As expected, Al-Makura, at the risk of his life, went to lead primary elections of the Epc to Ekiti. He conquered against all predictions, led the fastest primary elections that saw the emergence of the then governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
What the senator Al-Makura did in the North East and in Ekiti for the APC is his natural gift from the omnipotent. It can replicate the same in APC at national level and even in Nigerian politics.
As part of his contribution to the growth and development of the APC from his training years, Al-Makura is the only person who has delivered his state to the CPC of President Myhammadu Buhari; He was the first governor who hosted all the governors on the merger train for a meeting in Lafia who saw the formation of the APC.
His state, Nasarawa, was the only state CPC presented on the merger table during the negotiations. In fact, the senator Al-Makura concerned the only governor who crossed the length and amplitude of this country to ensure that the merger train had reached the desired destination; And this was made with the birth of the APC in 2014.
A man with these political exhibitions and sagacia since 1999, who has achieved a lot for the APC, must be rewarded this time. The time to reward him is now. Really, there is nothing that APC can do to compensate for the senator al-Makura for his entire efforts that allow him to occupy the office of the national president. Whatever short of this it will be interpreted by many as an injustice and ingratitude of a high level by the APC.
It has therefore been time for the members of the APC to kindly and handsomely reward the senator al-Makura for his resilience, dedication, sacrifices, contributions, patience and loyalty towards the party over the years. It has the experience and ability to deliver the country to the party to power to the general elections of 2027 to all the boards of directors.
