The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday urged the government in the state to stop hiding behind opposition to the security situation in the state.
APC State Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, made the call in a statement in Gusau.
Idris said the people of the state were dissatisfied with the way the government was handling the challenges.
He regretted that the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal continued to blame the previous administration in the state for its failure to fulfill its campaign promises to the people.
Idris said: “The PDP-led government in the state, during its campaign, exploited the insecurity surrounding Matawalle’s leadership, promising to eliminate banditry and other security challenges facing the state within the first months of its tenure.
“The administration of Governor Dauda Lawal, after failing, has again attacked the APC for failing to defeat banditry in the state.

“It is very unfortunate that recently there was a memo that allegedly came from the regional government and was signed by the Regional Government Secretary.
”It seeks Lawal’s approval to settle some identified bandits and journalists at a cost of over N1 billion, which went viral recently.
”However, it avoided public reaction to the issue, which was achieved through meetings with governors, government officials and several scholars.
“People in this state are attacked by bandits on a daily basis resulting in killings and kidnappings.”
