APC to host scholarships and women empowerment day in Edo
Ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will host a Scholarships and Women’s Empowerment Day Monday, September 16, 2024, to promote women’s education and development in the State.
Hosted by the Honourable Omorede Osifo, Deputy National Treasurer of the APC, and Amb. Western Iyamu, Convener of Diaspora Friends of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the event will have the Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa as one of the key figures present. As Fathers of the day will be the Edo APC paramount leader, Senator Adams Aliu Oshiomhole, and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Other notable participants include former Deputy Governors Dr. Pius Egberamwen Odubu and Hon. Lucky Imasuen, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, Prince Austin Eweka and General Cecil Esekhaigbe (retd). Moms of the day Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu and Lady Betty Okoebor, the female leader of the APC in Edo State, will be present.
These prominent personalities are expected to show their support for the APC governorship bid. The event will also feature a special appearance by Nollywood actor Kunle Coker, who will add entertainment to the proceedings.
Other notable APC leaders expected include Emperor Jarret Tenebe, Chairman, Edo State APC, Engineer Lawrence Okah, Secretary, Edo State APC, Honourable Patrick Obahiagbon, Leader, Oredo APC, Honourable Osazee Imasogie alias Zaggy, APC Leader, Mrs. Itohan Edokpolo, Leader, Edo South APC Women Senators, Chief, Mrs. Toyin Opawoye, Former National Officer, APC (North-Central), Chief Bisi Idaomi Esq., Administrative Director, Edo State APC Campaign Council, and Honourable Osaro Obazee, Former Chairman, Oredo Local Government Council, among others.
With the theme “A new Edo on the rise,” the event will serve as a major platform to endorse the APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, popularly known as Akpakomiza, and his running mate, Honourable Dennis Idahosa, also known as Denco. Both candidates are committed to promoting education and women empowerment as key aspects of their campaign for the Edo State gubernatorial election.
The Okpebholo Mandate Coalition, led by Honourable Omorede Osifo, and the Diaspora Friends of Senator Okpebholo, invite all Edo residents to join them in their mission for a better Edo under the leadership of the APC. The event will start at 12:00 noon and promises strong community and political engagement.
