APC Utara-middle supports Tinubu, said the VP choice is its only prerogative

The Congress Forum for all Progressive North Progressive (APC) has reiterated its unwavering support for the leadership of Bola President Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje’s leadership, stated that Tinubu was the only party presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

Ratification, delivered in a statement signed by the Chair of the Forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, attended the Northeast Stakeholder Meeting held in the State of Gombe on Sunday. This forum also emphasized that the decision of who became a vice presidential candidate in 2027 was fully relying on the president.

“It is the exclusive right of the president to elect his vice president. No one can force the President of the Tinubu soccer to choose a particular individual; that is his decision to nominate someone he believes can work with him,” the statement confirmed.

The group called for peace after the incident reported during the gombean stakeholder meeting, emphasizing that it should not reduce the whole party’s unity or distract from the steps made by his leadership.

“What happened in Gombe is an isolated incident and will not interfere with the situation in our party. APC remains a strong institution under the leadership of President Tinubu and Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje,” said the forum.

Supporting Ganduje’s leadership, the North-middle APC Forum praised the role of the national chairman in maintaining party neutrality and cohesion.

Describe it as “a leader who is committed to constitutional responsibility and party unity,” the forum praised Ganduje by strengthening internal stability in the critical period for the party.

Reflecting the 2023 general election, this forum highlighted the strong appearance of the North-Central Zone, which gave more than 1.7 million votes for APC and President Tinubu. While acknowledging that the southwest and northwest regions produced the highest vote count, the forum insisted that the north-middle remained a vital voting block in the party structure.

That was concluded by projecting a stronger participation in 2027, vowing to secure no less than six million votes from the zone to strengthen the re -election offer of Tinubu.

“With President Tinubu and Alhaji Ganduje led, APC was in a safe hand. We urged all members to avoid actions that could cause confusion or distract our leaders from the praiseworthy work they did to the party and the country,” the statement added.
