A former Minister of Home Affairs, Rauf Aregbesola, on Friday warned the supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) against their Progressive Party Partners (APC).
Aregbesola, a former ally of President Bola Tinubu, was launched as the National Secretary of ADC on Wednesday.
In a statement posted on his social media grip, former Governor of State Osun thanked the supporters who received it at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
He reminded the supporters of the ADC that the duties before the party were very large and urged them to focus on their goals instead of disagreeing with any individual or group.
He urged supporters of his party to challenge APC followers with facts about the state of the country.
The statement reads, “I sincerely thanked our supporters and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who came out to accept me at my arrival at Lagos. The task before us was very large, and I reminded everyone that we did not need to fight, insult, or attack anyone.
“When other people use abuse or call names, we must ride on it. Conversely, ask one simple question:
“Are Nigerians better today than before? Challenge them with facts about food inflation, economy, increasing living costs, and deeper poverty that affect millions of people.
“Let our debate remain focused on important problems. Articizing our position clearly and confidently. Explain why our new political home, ADC, is a credible and necessary alternative for the progress of Nigeria and long -term sustainability.”
