The 36 -year -old International Defender, Leon Balogun, has joined the Chipre Aris Limassol team in a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with the Scottish rangers, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.
His signature will become an officer on July 1 when his contract with the Rangers will officially come to an end. The duration of his contract with the Chipriot side was not announced when the club announced its signature on its official website.
Balogun is expected to bring its wealth of knowledge to the team both at the club and national level. He has played for teams in Germany, England and Scotland, while nationwide has 46 senior caps for Nigeria.
However, his international career has stagnated in the last two years when he played for the last time for the team, there were possibilities that he was called for the Unity Cup tournament recently completed in England, but coach Eric Chelle opted for younger options.
Despite the Desaite, Balogun, who has played in the World Cup for Nigeria, still has the hope of having another opportunity to add to his international appearance for the Super Eagles.
