Armed people on Wednesday killed an officer of the Osun State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, in Papa’s agricultural area, in the IWO area of ββthe state government.
Corps spokesman Yusuf Idowu confirmed the incident to journalists on Thursday at Osogbo.
He said the Amotekun officers and members of the vigilante group in Nigeria (VGN) responded to the calling of farmers in Papa’s agricultural areas when the attackers laid their ambush and shot them.

The spokesman said: “The officers who went to the location on a motorcycle, because the area structure of the area, tried to escape the attack in front of one of them, Lamidi Abiodun, unfortunately pulled down from a motorcycle and hacked to death with ax.
“In the same tone, a VGN officer was shot at the feet, while the others were still missing.”
However, Yusuf said the corps had been mobilized to the area and tried to arrest the perpetrators.
He described the death of Amotekun officers as a tragic loss for broader agencies and security communities in the state.
