Armed men invade the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Kill Doctor, patients flee

According to reports, unknown armed men killed a doctor in service at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) in the state of Edo.

It was said that the victim, simply identified as Dr. Alex, was in the physiotherapy department within the health facility when the tragic accident occurred.

Following the filming, it was collected that there was confusion in the hospital as healthy workers and patients hurried for safety.

It was said that the accident occurred on Friday, but it became the public after the health workers protested for the gruesome killing of their colleague inside the hospital.

The workers brandished various signs to record their displeasure for the accident.

The head of the public relations of the hospital (Pro), Joshua Uwailila, confirmed the murder Tuesday.

Uwailila said: “A physiotherapist from the teaching hospital of the University of Benin was killed on a firearm on Friday.

“The hospital authority reported the question of the security agencies and are awaiting the result of their discoveries”.

Blueprint reports that the murder has occurred between renewed clashes of worship between members of the notorious groups of confraternity of the black ax and the mafia.

A member of the Edo State Security Corps, a real estate developer and three others were feared dead between Thursday and Monday.

The spokesman for the Edo State Police, CSP. Moses Yamu, he still had to respond to developments as at the time of the presentation of this relationship.

In the meantime, the Governor of the Edo State, Senator on Monday Okpebholo, expressed profound concern for the rebirth of violence linked to worship in some parts of the state.

In a declaration issued by his apertical consultant for the media and advertising, Okhuemoi lies, the governor ordered the security agencies to move decisively against the calms.

The declaration observed: “The governor had clarified abundantly that the state would no longer have tolerated the senseless killing of our young people and the destabilization of our communities.

“Unfortunately, recent developments indicate that some individuals and groups have chosen to challenge this understanding.

“This administration remains unrelated to its commitment to free the state of cultural, crime and all threats to peace and order.

“We urge all residents respectful of the law to remain calm and continue with their daily activities.

“The security agencies are completely mobilized and work all day to restore and maintain peace”.
