Armed men killed 25, injuring many fresh highlands attacks

The armed people suspected of being the Fulani militia in the early days of Monday killed at least 25 people and injured several other people in the Kimakpa Village in the Miango District, the Bassa Regional Government in the State of the Highlands.

Residents told reporters that a heavy armed man invaded the community in hundreds of them and killed men, women and children.

One of the residents who managed to survive by fled to the bush nearby, said the bandits invaded the village on a motorcycle and began to shoot sporadically, killing victims who were trapped in a shootout.

He said that the joint force of the Nigerian army led by the Commander of the Sector, Police, and Mobile Police Mobile Forces placed in Miango responded rapidly calling for the attacker, and driving out the attack.

“After the weapon duel, the search for the area caused the recovery of 25 bodies, while four injured victims were rushed to the hospital to get medical attention,” said a security personnel.

“The troops have begun hunting for the perpetrators, with a large forest combination on it on the ongoing. Additional distribution has also been carried out to the affected area to prevent further attacks.”

Armediaries have killed more than 70 people in several bokkos regional communities in the state.
