The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a shepherd who brought AK-47 magazine which was laden with six lives, along with six people suspected of being robbery and kidnapping in various parts of the state.
Police public relations officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Sunday at the Lafia. He said the operation followed the credible intelligence of a caring citizen, encouraging the Doma division operators, led by division police officers, to attack a known criminal hiding place in Yelwa Ediya, Doma Lga.
The suspects, who were identified as Dardau Shehu, Yunusa Malami Hashima, Musa Abubakar, Ibrahim Musa, and Mohammed Musa – all residents of Yelwa Ediya Village – who were allegedly recognized during the interrogation to kidnap a local council member on May 26, stole two decent phones for 27 years. They also claimed to do a road barrier along Jalan Doma -Yerwa on July 19, where they grabbed a bajaj motorcycle worth ₦ 970,000, then sold it.

In a separate incident, the Keana Division officer arrested Herder Suleman Mohammadu who was 20 years old after he was suspected of firing a weapon during a dispute with farmers in Kuduku, Keiana Lga. An AK-47 magazine with six rounds was found directly from him with the help of community members.
Police Commissioner, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, has ordered all suspects who were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
CP Mohammed reiterated the command commitment to public safety and urged the population to remain in law and share credible information with security institutions.
