He says that any retaliation could lead to the civil war
[Press Release] Civil Rights Advocacy Group – Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (Huriwa) – invited the Department of State Services (DSS) and the National Security Councilor to fish the Malvaghi and Outlaws in the North of Nigeria who are making videos on social media asking Northern Muslims to attack Christians and Southern who live in the North.In a declaration of the media of the national coordinator Emmanuel Onwubiko, Huriwa warned that if the unbelievers in the North did well to their warm war openly, the consequences would be of vast scope since the vicious circle of reprisals throughout the South could free a civil war.
“The security forces should make the hay while the sun shines and should chase these black goats now before the arrival of the night,” said the group.
Huriwa said: “The media are full of stories about some identified unbelievers operating from places in northern Nigeria, who are circulating incendiary and divisants messages full of hatred through videos published on social media, claiming that southern and Christian who reside in the North should be attacked as a sold for the killings of some” travel hunters in Uromi Edo.
“Are we shocked by the fact that the DSS or office of the National Security Councilor have maintained a frightening but strong silence on these threatening and warm messages just like the security forces so far have not moved to arrest and prevent threats from arriving because of the security forces?
Huriwa recalled that a northern Nigeria man issued a 48 -hour ultimatum to President Bola Tinubu and the Governor of the Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, asking for a quick action to identify and arrest the managers of the killing of 16 northern in Uromi, in the state of Edo.
In a video seen from the media Tuesday, he threatened that the failure of this would lead to attacks of retaliation against the southerners who reside in the North.
In the three -minute video and 30 seconds obtained, the unidentified man expressed his concerns about the murders, stating that the Nordists would not remain patient in front of these attacks.
It implied that any reprisals in the north should be blamed to the southerners.
Furthermore, another person identified as a northern who put on a uniform of the Nigerian police, according to what reported, wrote on his Facebook page that the killing of northern to Uromi would have been sold.
Reacting, Huriwa warned that the DSS and other intelligence agencies must move quickly to arrest these people who instigate others and actually threaten to ocular a bloody revenge on the southern who live in the north and bring them to book. The rights group said that these threats are real and must be taken seriously and crawl on the bud before the threats are updated.
