Arsenal’s hopes of lifting the Carabao Cup and FA Cup trophies have been dashed in recent weeks, and this defeat is sure to destroy the excitement within the club.

Midway through the match, manager Mikel Arteta brought on Leandro Trossard, Eberechi Eze and Max Dowman to try to win the match. But Bournemouth surprised their hosts.

The Gunners could drop more points on Sunday if second-placed Manchester City snatch a win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
