The management of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), as part of its employee compensation regime, (ECS), said she has spread their regattas to include Artisan, Pushers Barrow, trader as beneficiaries of their services.
The agency stated that their pre-employment is to see that the lesions, diseases and deaths that occur following the work are compensated.
The regional director of NSITF, Dr. Emeka Offor, dropped this suggestion during the special day of the NSITF at the 36th ENUGU International Fair in progress Thursday.
Offor, represented by the director of the branches, Mrs. Oraegbu Uzoamaka, observed that first now the workers of large companies, public employees and large industries have benefited from their services, but now they want many Nigerians to be part of the fund.
He hypothesized that in their rapid response to compensate the affected workers who undergo injuries in their workplaces, once they have informed of injuries, diseases and deaths related to work, within 14 days.
He said that once the person was recorded at NSITF and has adequate documentation, compensation is paid immediately.
He observed that to demonstrate that they are committed to compensating the injured, sick or dead worker, they recently compensated for a staff of the National Assembly with over N266 million.
“We are not looking for excuses not to pay. We have about 135 employees at the fair who deal with your complaints,” he underlines
Miss Nkechinyere Jaja, who is responsible for the organization’s informal economic department, underlined that, since they want Nigerians to benefit from funds, traders, small entrepreneurs and craftsmen now have hope of accessing the fund in the event of injuries, diseases and deaths related to work.
“The artisans, street companies should benefit from NSITF. We are still cultivating the informal economy to benefit from the bottom. Every tower that Berlow will benefit from NSITF, not just large companies. Just register with us. Every time you have an accident linked to work, you benefit from it,” he said.
Even speaking, the security officer, Innocent Orji, said they were investigating and, when tried, pay compensation without further delay.
“We investigate the accidents and within 14 days they refer to us in writing, we compensate you,” he said.
