The academic union of Polytechnics (Asup), the Polytechnic chapter Nuhu Bamalli, Zaria, Kaduna State, said an indefinite strike on Tuesday.

The president of the branch, Malam Usman Suleiman, announced it in a declaration issued on Monday in Zaria.

Suleiman said that the decision followed a meeting with the government of the state of Kaduna in which the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education appealed for patience, stating that the governor UBA Sani had “implicitly approved” their requests.

He explained that the union decided to withdraw his services until formal approval was granted by the governor.

The president recalled that the congress had previously commissioned the leadership to undertake an indefinite strike if the Polytechnic wage structure (PSS) was not implemented after paying the salary of September 2025.
