Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said on Saturday that he was more interested in Nigeria who was better than being the president of the country.
Abubakar stated this at the remarks ceremony for new members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos.
Some members of the Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labor Party declared their ADC membership at the ceremony.
The defectors including a member of the PDP Supervisory Board, Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, former Chairman of Lagos PDP, Head of Muritala Ashorobi, Deputy Chairperson of PDP (Lagos Central), Tunji Shelle, and former PDP youth leader, Tai Benedict, among others.
They were accepted by the ADC national tribal chief, including the National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; Senator Kolawole Ogunwale, and Mr. George Ashiru, Chair of the State ADC.
Abubabar, who is a guest speaker in the program, said he did not want to lead Nigeria, but was interested in a better, safe and prosperous country.

He was represented at the event by Prof. Ola Ooleju from Achievement University, Owo, Ondo State.
Former vice president and several PDP members who thought the same recently threw the party to join the ADC.
“I plan to build a better Nigeria. So, this is not about me to be president. This is about having a better government, a good governance that will be able to give to Nigerians.
“This is not a personal thing for me. This is not about Atiku being president in any way.
“Adc, for us, is not a political party. This is a movement, the Nigerian movement for a better Nigeria.”
He said the movement in ADC was to re -position the country and bring it to a very high level.
