The Senate through his Committee for public finances, on Thursday, clarified that the N210 financial infringement trillions collected against the Nigerian NNPCL NGUNED NGROLEUM COMPANY Limited, in the revision reports of 2017 at 2023, were not welcomed by the oil company owned by Nigeria.
But the committee led by Senator Aliyu Wadada Ahmed (Nasarawa West), insisted on the fact that the CEO of the group (GCare) of NNPCL, Engr. Bayo Ojulari must appear in front of it for explanations on financial infringements and other questions raised against the oil company owned by Nigeria.
The declarations of these effects were made by the President and by the members of the Committee during the investigatives he had with the high -level staff of NNPCL on Thursday as expected since the 26th of last month.
The Committee had at the end of the investigative session he had with the management of NNPCL on the 26th of last month, he directed that the GCIA of the company had to appear in front of him together with pertinent officials on 10 July 2025 to take into account the financial infringements N210 -Rilion and defend other rates lifted nnpcl in Audit relations.
In line with its previous directive, the committee during the investigative session with NNPCL Thursday, refused to allow the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Dapo Segun to present any presentation or presentation on behalf of the GCIA, Eng. Bayo Ojulari, who had traveled for the organization of the countries exported by oil (OPEC) which will currently be held in Vienna in Austria.
First to kick against the presentation of NNPCL to do the presentation, it was the Senator Abdul Ningi (Bauchi Central), who accused Nnpcl of taking over the committee with the persistence of the absence of his Gcean from critical sessions that require his presence.
“It is very disturbing and unacceptable for NNPCL GCIA unsening again the invitation of this committee for its apparition.
“It never appeared before this committee from its appointment, which is truly disturbing.
“Invitation for his appearance before the Committee had been sent to him before the meeting of the OPEC that as far as we are concerned, he should have used his discretion on where to be today that he should be in front of this committee and by extension, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“It must appear in front of this committee as indicated,” he said.
Another member of the Committee, Senator Adams Oshiomhole (Edo North), slammed nnpcl Gceton for his persistent failure to appear in front of the Committee.
“Nobody is larger than the country and anyone who feels like this, he is not business in the government. Nnpcl Gcete should make good use of the invitation window for the appearance that is offered to him now before the door is closed against him with a strong one.
“The committee is not tempting, but orders him to appear in front that, in his own interest, he must be obeyed,” he said.
As a result, the Committee, as stated by the President, decided that NNPCL GCCE should appear before an inevitable date that will be communicated to him.
Before making the declaration Senator Wadada, he clarified that the Committee has nothing against nnpcl nnpcl, but has made his constitutionally mandatory duty to make Nigeria work through a complete scruio of how public funds are spent.
“I have nothing against anyone in nnpcl just like other members of the Committee, but by carrying out our constitutional mandate to guarantee the probity and responsibility on the expense of public funds.
“Nnpcl, as clearly indicated in the 2017-2023 audit report, must take into account the financial infringement of N210Trilion.
“This committee has never said that Nnpcl stole the money, but asks for it to take it into account.
“The NNPCL GCACE must appear in front of this Committee to provide the account and offer explanations on other questions raised,” he said.
