AYEGBA: Moroccan fans should not pose a problem for Super Falcons

The former Super Falcons goalkeeper, Racheal Ayegba, has made support in the Morocco Home in the Final of the Women’s Africa Cup on Saturday.

While the Super Falcons are pointing to a tenth Wafcon title, Morocco is considering its first continental title.

Before today’s meeting, Ayeggba, who won the Wafcon in 2006 and was in the 2007 FIFA World Cup, recognized the impact of Moroccan fans, but dismissed the concerns about them disturbing the players of the Super Falcons.

“I think fans will play a key role. With more than 50,000 fans who probably support Morocco, the atmosphere will undoubtedly be intense,” said the 39 -year -old. Flashscore.com In an exclusive interview.

“However, they are not there to play the game for Morocco. If the Falcons stay focused, they remain in their strategy and give their best, they have all the opportunities to go on top.

“Super Falcons should not worry about the crowd because they have a solid game plan.

“Looking at the performances of both teams from the group stage to the final, and taking into account our scores along the way, I think we have a slight advantage over Morocco.

“Fans should not pose a problem for Super Falcons, since most players have experience competing in Europe, where they have played in front of large and passionate crowds. Therefore, the atmosphere should not be a problem for them.”

Morocco won his only victory over the Super Falcons in the semifinal of the last edition of Wafcon.

After a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes and extra time, Morocco won 5-4 in a criminal shooting.

Before the 2022 contest the last four, the Super Falcons hammered Morocco 8-0 in 1998 and 6-0 in 2000 Wafcons.

Ayeggba believes that the hawks are ready to reaffirm their domain.

“They are the Super Falcons, and they have a strong and talented squad. I don’t see Morocco representing a great threat,” he continued.

“The key will be to remain composed because the nerves can sometimes interrupt their game plan. They can also take a lesson of what happened last time and use it as a reference to avoid similar incidents.

“Limit physical contact with the Moroccan team could work in their favor (from Nigeria). I remember that in that previous game (Wafcon 2022), they received two red cards, but they still achieved a 1-1 draw before losing by penalty.

“Honestly, I don’t think Morocco has anything about us. This is a great opportunity to solve the score.”

She declared that the 2022 semifinal clash event will serve as motivation for Justin Madugu side.

“I see this as a repetition of the WAFCon 2022 semifinal. I think he will feed his determination, especially given the bitter memory of what Morocco did to them last time.

“In addition, this is another opportunity for Super Falcons to show their fire power and demonstrate the world that they are not only the best team in Africa, but really deserving champions.

“Having won the competition title nine times, this ‘Mission X’ mission is its opportunity to claim the trophy once again and solidify its legacy as the best in the continent.”

He praised the depth and general quality of the Madugu team, pointing out that the combination of experience and talent gives Nigeria a clear advantage against Northern Africans.

“The fact that we have a strong depth in the team is a great advantage for the Super Falcons. It is not just about having the best initial XI, but also having quality options in the bank.

“(Asisat) Oshoala has done incredibly well and nobody can take that away. He has been appointed African player of the year six times, more than any other player, man or woman.

“But at the same time, we have young talents admiring it, ready to intervene and contribute. That is not a threat, it is support. So, with the depth we have, I am really excited and proud of this team.”
