Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) President Francis Orbih has described Eniola Bolajiβs bronze medal achievement at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games as an investment product.
Bolaji defeated Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyna 21-9, 21-9, to win the bronze medal and become the first Nigerian and African athlete to win an Olympic or Paralympic medal in badminton.
In a statement by the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, the president praised the player, saying that she had overcome obstacles to achieve this feat.
βBFN extends its heartfelt congratulations to Eniola Mariam Bolaji for her outstanding performance,β the federation president said.

“Although the journey to this point was very tough, we are now here with a medal to show all the effort and investment from both the federation and more importantly the players themselves,” the president said.

He said his achievements had been a source of inspiration for aspiring athletes across Africa and Nigeria.
βHis hard work and persistence have paid off, not only for himself but for the entire Nigerian sporting community,β he added.
