The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Chris Musa, has once again assured that the days of notorious bandit kingpin, Bello Turji are numbered as the Nigerian military will soon eliminate him like other bandit leaders that have been eliminated in recent weeks.
Musa, who made his new pledge in a post on X on Saturday night, said Turji would soon meet his end in the same way bandit kingpins like Halilu Sububu and others met their end.
“Same Way to Catch Bandits Like Halilu Sububu, That’s How We Catch Turji – Musa Turji was on the run, confused and didn’t know what to do. His colleagues were also looking for him to kill him because of the pressure he was putting on them,” Musa said.
Ripples Nigeria reports that it has been 10 days since General Musa vowed to arrest Turji. However, the bandit continues to roam free and cause death and destruction in Nigeria.

Prior to General Musa’s new appointment, counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, had made several posts on the micro-blogging platform in which he said Turji was forced to flee from one forest to another due to increasing pressure from the military.
“Bello Turji was forced to flee from one forest to another due to the intense military operations. He could not stay in one place. He moved from SHINKAFI forest to TSAFE to ISA and SABON BIRNI. The situation was critical, and he was constantly on the run.”
In another post, Zagazola said Turji had made a video begging for mercy after the recent killing of his mentor and leader Sububu. Zagazola added that Turji decided to give in because he knew the end was near with so much pressure being placed on him.
“He now knows that the whole world is against him. He is even afraid of his own shadow. No wonder he recently made a video begging the people of NorthWest to forgive him for causing them suffering. Unlike before, where he was arrogant, he sounds more like a drowning man,” Zagazola wrote in another post.
