Armed bandits on Saturday night attacked several villages in the state of Bauchi and killed many people.
They also injured several other people and exclaimed in the attack.
The villages that were attacked were Mansur, Digare, Sabuwar Sara, and Yalo in the Gwana District in the area of the alkaleri regional government in the state.
Spokesman for the State Police Command, Ahmed Mohammed Deputy, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday in Bauchi.

He said the Commissioner of the State Police, Sani-omolori Aliyu, had visited the crime scene to conduct a situation assessment on the spot and ordered the distribution of tactical teams to affected villages.
The spokesman said: “While in an alkaleri, the CP was involved with relevant stakeholders and urged everyone to calm down, be alert and support the police to continue to provide security. He also ordered a full scale investigation of the incident.
“He described the action was truly despicable and a significant threat to state peace and security.
