Bauchi government demotes school officials, rejected two civil servants for mistakes

The state government Bauchi has deployed Deputy Principal (academics) of the Jibril Aminu Model School to the rank of class teacher after he was found guilty for subduing students for excessive physical punishment.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Senior Management Committee of the State Management Board of the State of Bauchi on Tuesday.

Confirming the development, the Chairperson of the Council, Babangida Barau, urged parents to remain calm, ensuring that further disciplinary steps will follow the right investigation.
“The council is committed to providing quality education and discipline in accordance with modern school administration standards,” said Barau.

In a separate action, the State Civil Service Commission Bauchi has fired two officials, Yusuf Ningi, an administrative official, and Suleiman Ahmed, a main executive official, for counterfeiting.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by a spokesman for the commission, Saleh Umar, the decision was achieved during the 35th plenary session of the commission held on September 23, 2025.

“The dismissal is considered and formalized in the plenary. Violations violate state public service regulations 0327 (II, III and VI). The dismissal came into force since September 23, 2025,” the statement said.

Disciplinary actions underline the new attitude of the state government regarding accountability in the education and civil service sector.
