A violent accident occurred on Tuesday in the community of Jato Aka, in the area of the local government of the Kwande (LGA) of the state of Benue, causing the death of three people, including two students.
According to eye witnesses, the soldiers engaged in a battle for weapons with criminals, but the premises have said that military personnel opened fire on mourning mourning that return from the burial of Capo Hanave Laha, a head of the family in Nzaav, Yaav Council Ward, Turan district.
The shooting, which took place on Tuesday afternoon, was described by the eye witnesses as not caused and a serious violation of human rights.
A place that begged anonymity said that two students of the government’s scientific secondary school, Jato Aka, identified as Iorfa and another to be identified, were affected by a bullet that penetrated another victim, Mr. Irsuur, who, according to reports, was hit at a close distance. Another student was also injured.
He said the injured student is currently receiving care at the NKST General Hospital, Jato Aka.
However, the body of Mr. Irsuur was presumably taken away by the soldiers in a not disclosed position.
He revealed that the accident paralyzed the commercial and school activities in Jato Aka, while heavily armed soldiers continue to patrol the city in high -speed weapons trucks, increasing fear among residents.
“The leaders of the community in the area concerned invited the state and federal authorities to intervene immediately to restore calm.
“The case has already been reported to the president of the local government of Kwande, Hon. Vitalis Neji, and to the general president of the popular organization of the Kwande United (Kwupo), companion Aloko Nachi Simon,” he observed.
The cause of the attack is not yet known and an investigation is expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
As at the time of filling this relationship, the military authorities have not yet reacted to the accident.
