Benue: fresh attack leaves 11 security agents of £ ad

The bodies of eight other policemen killed in a fatal attack against the security agents at the AGU Center, on the border between Katsina-Ala and Ukum Local Government areas (LGAS) of the State of Benue.

Blueprint.ng collected that the accident occurred on Friday when a team of security agents met armed invaders, leaving a first confirmed dead staff and eight others missing.

The team included the staff of the Zenda operation, in collaboration with the Benue State Civil Protection Guard (BSCPG) and the Special Interventions Squad (SIS).

The president of Katsina-Ala Lga, Dr. Justine Shaku, confirmed on Monday that the bodies of the eight disappeared officers had been recovered, bringing the number of officers killed at 11 (10 policemen and a BSCPG).

He said that the atmosphere in the area is still tense and hostile, but the security agencies are working to arrest the authors.

He also observed that Benue’s State Police Commissioner, CP Ifeanyi amendment, is on the coordination field of operations.

The attack also highlighted the heroism of the security agents, including the ASP Danlamin Usman (Dan Zuru) and others who have courageously fought against the armed invaders.

Within sources that do not want their name mentioned, they said that despite being strongly more numerous, the security team has maintained its position and courage and professionalism were evident in the face of overwhelming probability.

The spokesman for the State Police Command of Benue DSP Udeme Edet who confirmed the development said that investigations are underway on the attack and the security agencies are working to identify and arrest the authors.

It could be noted that the recovery of the eight bodies brings closure to the questions about the minds of the families of the deceased, but the accident has raised concerns about the security situation in the state.
