Biden team rejects troop withdrawal talks, vows to stay in presidential election despite setbacks

Amid growing concerns and rumors about a potential withdrawal, the White House has steadfastly denied that President Joe Biden is considering dropping out of the presidential race.

Spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre, on Wednesday, said Biden was “clear-eyed and…remains in the race.”

The confirmation comes after a tumultuous week following Biden’s performance in a debate against Donald Trump, which sparked panic in the Democratic Party and fueled speculation about possible replacement candidates.

Polls showing Trump gaining support have further increased the pressure.

Despite reports suggesting Biden has acknowledged his re-election bid is in jeopardy, the president has reiterated his commitment to seeing the race through to the end.

In a call with campaign staff and party leaders, Biden vowed, “I’m going to be in this race to the end, and we’re going to win.”

Democratic governors, including Wes Moore, Tim Walz and Kathy Hochul, have pledged their continued support, with Walz attesting to Biden’s fitness for office.

The show of unity is aimed at defusing rumors and strengthening Biden’s candidacy as the election approaches.
