Boko Haram’s suspicious rebels on Thursday held an ambush to a commercial bus along the road of Maiduguri -Banki, leaving five passengers injured.

Safety sources reported that the attack occurred around 2:30 pm in Wudila, a deserted village near Bank.

The terrorists opened fire on a Toyota Hiace bus (ASU-255-XA) recording number led by 50-year-old Mustapha Adam, who underwent a gun wound on the back.

Other victims have been identified as Musa Mohammed, 41 years old, who underwent bullet injuries to his left hand; Mohammed Bukar Gaji, 61, who fractured his hand after falling from the vehicle; Modu Usman, 35, from Cameroon, who suffered a gunshot wounds on his neck; And Mohammed Adam, 32 years old, who underwent rib injuries.

The troops of the Operation Hadin Kai responded to the rescue call, but the attackers had already fled before the reinforcements arrived.

All the victims were evacuated in the FHI 360 clinic in Bank, where three were treated and discharged, while two remain hospitalized in the hospital in stable conditions.

There were no deaths or ownership losses and further troops were lined up to strengthen safety along the way.
