Victor Boniface was at Bayer Leverkusen’s target in his 3-1 victory at Casa against Bochum in the Bundesliga on Friday night.
Boniface has now scored the eighth goal in 16 games in the Bundesliga this season for the Xabi Alonso team.
His Nigerian teammate, Nathan Tella, was not in action for the Bundesliga champions, since he is out of play with muscle injuries.
Boniface scored on the time brand to put his team 2-1 ahead.
He was in the target again with 10 minutes to play, but his effort was ruled out after consultation with the video assistant referee (VAR).
Aleix GarcÃa had broken Leverkusen’s dead point in the 20th minute before Felix Passlack equalized for Bochum.
Amine Adli then got Leverkusen’s third goal with three minutes to play.
Leverkusen now has 59 points, just three points from Bayern Munich, who will welcome St. Pauli Alianz Arena on Saturday.
