Boniface, Tella in action as Leverkusen held Bayern to a draw

Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface was in action for Bayer Leverkusen as they drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The Nigeria international, who this week said he deserved to be voted Africa’s next best player, played 78 minutes before being substituted.

Boniface was replaced by another Nigerian Nathan Tella, but they did everything they could to get the win but failed.

Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga last season, stopping German giants Bayern from extending their title streak to 11 in a row.

Both teams have been spectacular throughout the start of this season and a lot is expected from both teams.

Champions Leverkusen opened the scoring in the encounter when Robert Andrich before Aleksandar Pavlović scored an equalizer eight minutes later for the hosts.
