Borno Governor, Zulum, rejected the rumors

The Governor of Babagana Zulum from Borno’s state has rejected the widespread rumors that he was considering defecting all the progressive congress (APC), to join the opposition coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

There were rumors during the weekend that Zulum, along with five other governors, perfecting plans to dispose of APC and join the coalition. But in a statement issued on Sunday by the Head Secretary of the Head, Dauda Iliya, Zulum said there was no truth in the rumors because he never thought of leaving APC.

The governor described the rumor as a ‘unfounded and baseless fabrication by elements that were immoral seeking relevance.

The statement entitled ‘Rumors of the Speculation of the Imagination of the Thinkers who are wishful; My loyalty to APC Sacrosanct ‘, reads:
“I have realized fictitious and naughty social media reports circulating in certain places, accusing that I plan to solve from all Progressive Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with five other governors.

“This is entirely wrong and only exists in the imagination of its sponsors. They are a dispersion that does not make a significant contribution to the progress of the state of Borno or Nigeria.

“This is a classic example of cheap and political motivated speculation that is designed solely to divert our attention and create unnecessary political tension.

“My loyalty to APC remains strong, and my dedication is merely for the welfare and progress of the Borno state. I urge people both from Borno and the general public to ignore this fabrication.

“We do not have time for cheap politics, our hands are full of noble tasks to rebuild and develop our beloved country.

“I summoned media outlets and the public to verify information from credible official sources and ignore the fabrication of despair from those who seek relevance through disinformation.

“We remain firm in our commitment to serve the Borno state under the banner of our big party, APC.”
