Brazilian police thwarted the bomb plot at the Rio Lady Gaga concert, arrested two

Brazilian police announced on Sunday that they had succeeded in disturbing the planned bomb attack targeting Lady Gaga’s big concert in Rio de Janeiro, which attracted around two million participants.

The Rio Civil Police forces stated that “together with the Ministry of Justice,” it has “prevented the bomb attack that will occur at the Lady Gaga concert at Copacabana” on Saturday night.

Officials report that superstar’s free performance on the beach is interesting up to two million people.

In a post in X, Rio police revealed that they had captured an adult who was “responsible for the plot” and a teenager during the operation, named the code “Fake Monster” – Reference for the term Lady Gaga’s love for his fans, “Little Monshes.”

The police indicate that the people involved have recruited people online to “carry out attacks using improvised explosives,” with the intention of “getting fame on social media.”

The operation involved attacks carried out throughout the states of Rio de Janeiro, as well as in the states of Sao Paulo, Rio Grande Do Sul, and Mato Grosso.

The Lady Gaga concert marked the second time a year that Copacabana Beach was hosting a multi-million strong audience for musical performances, following the same concert by Madonna the previous year.

Security steps for Saturday performances are very tight, with a distribution of about 5,000 officers, drones, and both of them supervise and camera recognition.
