Breaking: Djokovic outside while the sinner settles for the Alcaraz final in 2025 US Open

Jannik Sinner has undergone a slight fright to win his semifinal Us Open against Felix Auger-Aiassime and created another attractive ending of the Grand Slam with Carlos Alcaraz.

The Sinner defender champion was far from the best, but he had enough to go through 6-1 3-6 6-3 at the Arthur Ashe stadium.

It means that Sinner, 24, has won 26 of his 27 games so far in Grand Slams this year – winning titles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon and reaching the final of the French Open, which he lost against Alcaraz.

The sinner shaken the opening set but stumbled in the second, with an injury that apparently hindered him as a grouped Auger-Aliassime Drew Level.

The Italian took a medical timeout before returning to the third set and settled again in a rhythm without ever hitting the high shape.

He will face the number two Alcaraz World Championships in the show on Sunday after the Spaniard has passed Novak Djokovic 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 before Friday.

“Sunday is a very special day and again an extraordinary final,” Sinner said, who added in his post-match interview that his injury was “nothing wrong”.

He continued: “We will see what is coming. I feel like our rivalry started here playing an extraordinary game [in 2022, when Alcaraz beat Sinner in the quarter-finals]. Now we are two different players now, with different trust.

“We played a lot, we know each other very well.”

The number one world sinner was almost perfect in the opening set, making only four unformed errors, leading to the feeling that another routine victory was on the cards.

But the errors began to insinuate themselves into the game of Sinner in the second and Auger-Aliassime, who was appearing only in his second semifinal of the Grand Slam and for the first time since 2021, he grew up with trust-of the energy of the crowd to obtain a point of support.

Auger-aliassime transmitted three pause points for the possibility of driving 2-0, but continued to break 5-3 before serving for the set.

There were no real indications that the sinner was transporting an accident until he left the court for care, although his precision of first service had slightly decreased.

He obtained only 10 out of 25 (40%) in the third compared to 10 of 22 (45%) in the second set and 13 out of 25 (52%) in the first.

Auger-aliassime was unable to fully capitalize any potential problem, and a service break was 5-3 was sufficient to take the set.

When the fourth began, Sinner appeared the cooler of the two – except for some moments of resilience from his opponent.

Victory means that Sinner is only the fourth player in the open era to reach all four Grand Slam finals in one season after Rod Laver, Roger Federer and Djokovic.

Sinner Trails Alcaraz in their head -to -head record, losing nine of their 14 meetings, including three of their four meetings in 2025.
