KEFFI (NASARAWA) – The joint admission and matrication council (JAM) indicates that from 2025, candidates register for their exams with their national identity management number (NIM) to resolve the challenges of multiple registration.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, chief of the media of the board of directors made it known during a reinforcement workshop of a day organized by the National Examination Council (NECO) for the correspondents of education in Kffi on Friday.
Benjamin, who spoke on the subject: “Understanding the reports in the 21st century”, said that development would be facilitated by the partnership with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). Jamb introduced innovations for 2025 UTME (opens in a new browser tab)
According to him, experience has shown that the professional fault in conducting the public examination, in particular the UTME, in fact begins with the recording exercise. No NIN, no access to the Govt services from 2025, says NIMC (opened in a new browser tab) “Four days ago, we canceled the results of four candidates due to examination mulprations that we discovered after the exam.” The board of directors is at the top of the situation because it has the determination and technology in place to prevent attempts to compromise the registration process. “An intrinsic part of the strategies adopted by the board of directors is to ensure that its registration period is maintained very short.” He said that candidates register would now take 30 days instead of a longer period to contain the chances of fraudsters’ strategies to get around the process. Benjamin also called on parents to refrain from encouraging their children to commit professional examination faults. On the biometric challenges, he said that the board of directors had planned to ensure that in 2025, the problems of biometric problems during the registration would be completed. “In 2025, we have around 24,490 biometric challenges, but we were able to bring this back to 22 in 2025; but if we are able to stick to our field by 2025, we will not have biometric challenges,” he said. He added that no computer test center (CBT) would be used for the conduct of its exams, with the exception of those whose administrators were the owners of the CBT centers. Speaking on the challenges of imitations on examination, Benjamin said that several inscriptions, if they are not verified, were an easy way to pretend to be a candidate. He noted that the board of directors, in accordance with international best practices, would take care of people with special needs thanks to the capacity building and ICT empowerment program. (Nan)
