Breaking: Super Eagles No 1 Nwabali injured

The hopes of Super Eagles to qualify for the 2026 World Cup may have suffered a great blow after the goalkeeper No 1 Stanley Nwabali was stretched after he was injured in action by his South African club.

Nwabali was retired on a stretcher in 35^th Chippa Minuto United Psl Match against Richards Bay.

The scope of the lesion could not be determined immediately, but it seemed serious that it had to be helped outside the field.

The captain of Chippa United has been Nigeria’s number 1 goalkeeper since the delayed 2023 AFCon last year, where he shone when the Super Eagles arrived until the final.

He has been called for the Crucial World Cup classification next month against Rwanda and South Africa.
