Breaking: The Labor Party invoice bangs the suspension on Otti, Kingbe, others

The Labor Party, (LP), Wednesday, announced the indefinite suspension of the governor Alex Otti of the State of Abia, of Senator Ireti Kingbe, of Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Victor Afam Ogam, Amobi Ogah and Seyi Sowunmi.

They were suspended following the report of a panel established to investigate Otti and other members for alleged anti-play activities.

It will be remembered that on May 2, 2025, the National Executive Committee, (NEC), of the Labor Party, established a disciplinary committee of five men led by the national vice president, dr. Ayo Olorunfemi, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, the national secretary and three others to investigate Otti and other party members about anti -party attachments.

The Disciplinary Committee concluded its assignment and presented their report to the party leadership.

The national executive of the party met on May 7, 2025 and after an exhaustive resolution in line with the powers granted by the Constitution of the party, the recommendation ratified as presented by the Disciplinary Committee.

However, a declaration by Umar Farouk Ibrahim, national secretary of LP, said: “Consequently, the following party members were suspended by the party and by all its activities, indefinitely and with immediate effect.

“Dr Alex Otti, senator Ireti Kingbe, senator Darlington nwokocha, Hon. Victor Afam Ogam, Hon. Amobi Ogah and Hon. Seyi Sowunmi

“With this suspension, these former parties of the party will no longer act for and on behalf of the party. All the institutions concerned including the Nigeria Governor Forum, the National Assembly, the INNC and the security agencies, among others, must take note.”
