Brigadier General Nafiu Olakunle appointed NYSC D

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Nafiu Olakunle, brigadier general, an artillery officer, as the new general manager of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The new DG, which comes from Ileogbo, near Iwo in the state of Osun, was previously chief of staff of the deceased head of the army staff, the lieutenant general Taoreed Lagbaja, who passed away at the age of 56 on November 5, 2024, in Lagos after a period of illness.

Olakunle replaced brigade general Yushau Ahmed.

Feers in Abuja on Sunday evening indicated that his appointment is with immediate effect.
