The first lady Oluremi Tinubu also expressed pride in the team’s achievements and her undefeated streak of a decade in the competition, stating: “We all wait for its arrival, with the trophy again.”

D’Tigress surpassed the archirival Senegal 75–68 in a very disputed match called “The Final Before the Final”, ensuring a place in the championship game for the fifth consecutive edition and reinforcing their domain in the African women’s basketball.

In a congratulation message, the first lady praised the impressive undefeated race of the team of a decade, highlighting her commitment, dedication, hard work and love for basketball.

She prayed for continuous success in the final and urged D’Atigress to bring the trophy home.
