Former president Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Gwandu’s Emir, the major General Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar (Cf., MNI), for his reference to the Supreme Court, which eventually brings a prolonged 20 -year -old legal battle on the throne.
In a phone call from London, where he is currently residing, Buhari expressed his sincere joy for the decision of the court in favor of the Emir, describing it as a well -deserved and long -awaited claim.
Buhari and Emir share a long -standing personal and professional relationship, having been classmates in the army.
Speaking during the call, the former president praised the dedication of Emir to the service and his resilience during legal calvary.
“You have always worked for the improvement of your people and the nation, even in those circumstances,” said Buhari.
“I hope you will continue to promote the peace, happiness and prosperity of people in Gwandu’s emirate and beyond.”
He also expressed gratitude to Allah for the result of the case and offered prayers for the continuous good health and long life of the Emir.
The sentence of the Supreme Court marks the end of a ten -year race between the Emir and its challenger, the major Haruna Jokolo (RTD), who had previously been deposited.
The decision reiterates the legitimate place of the throne of the throne of Emir Iliyasu Bashar, bringing relief and celebration to Gwandu’s emirate.
