Nimba County District#6 is tense after a 45-year-old Burkinabe national was discovered shot dead in a forest.

Nimba, Liberia, May 23, 2025 – Police in Nimba County have arrested six people linked to the death of a Burkinabe National in the forest in district#6.
The unidentified deceased, according to report, was allegedly killed with a single barrel gun, a situation that has created tension and led to protest in the district.
The NEW DAWN gathered that Suspect Augustine Gaye, who is believed to be the prime suspect, was last seen entering the forest with a single barrel gun prior to the incident, but said weapon was not seen with him upon his return to town.
The deceased remains were found in Dewoblee Forest in district#6, Nimba County.
Report says the victim was in the forest preparing food, when he was gunned down by an unknown person.
But Suspect Augustine has distanced himself from the killing, claiming that he has not been in the forest for the past six months.
Meanwhile, the six suspects are currently facing Police investigation, while the remains of the 42-year-old Burkinabee have been turned over to family members for burial.
This latest incident brings to two number of Burkinabees killed in District#6 since the migrants entered that region of Nimba. Editing by Jonathan Browne
