Burna Boy mocks DJ Tunez after altercation in Lagos club

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has mocked DJ Tunez following a physical altercation at Obi’s House, a popular Afrobeats venue in Lagos on Monday.

The exact cause of the clash remains unclear, although industry watchers speculate that it may be linked to ongoing tensions, particularly DJ Tunez’s close association with Wizkid. Eyewitnesses reported that members of Burna Boy’s entourage were involved before security intervened to restore order.

The dispute escalated online when DJ Tunez, also known as Ogbafia, called Burna Boy a “coward” and posted a dig referencing the singer’s 2025 album No Sign of Weakness.

In response, Burna Boy shared a video in which he mocked the DJ, dancing to his song Money Constant while altering a lyric from “Ogbafia dey my side” to “Ogbafia dey for ground”, ending with a dramatic fall.

Following the incident, the Nigerian DJ Association announced a temporary ban on Burna Boy’s music in DJ playlists nationwide. “Burna Boy’s music is temporarily off our DJs’ playlists until further notice,” the association said.

“Our team will carry out a proper investigation into the incident involving DJ Tunez.”
