
Waheed Salaudeen, the CEO of Buruj Football Academy and Buruj Football Club, has donated hundreds of thousands of naira to the victorious Lagos State Women’s Football Team, which won the football event at the National Youth Games in Delta State, Sports247 reports.
The donation, which was announced during the Lagos State Football Council Annual General Meeting on Saturday, September 21, highlights the growing support for youth football in Lagos.
Salaudeenβs generous contribution was part of an ongoing series of donations from stakeholders keen to celebrate the girlsβ extraordinary achievement. Addressing those present, Salaudeen praised the teamβs hard work and determination, noting that their victory serves as an inspiration to young athletes across the country.
βThese girls have shown extraordinary talent and resilience. This donation is a small way to encourage them and let them know that the entire football community is behind them,β said Salaudeen.
The Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Hajji Gafar, expressed his deep appreciation for Salaudeenβs gesture and stressed the importance of supporting young talents in football.
βWe are grateful to Waheed Salaudeen and Buruj Football Academy for their unwavering support. This kind of backing is crucial for the development of our young athletes,β said Gafar.
The cash donation was received with enthusiasm and gratitude by the team, who had worked tirelessly to secure their victory at the National Youth Games.
