[Press Release] The ATIKU media office observes with absolute contempt for the disparable observations made by Daniel Bwala, special consultant of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on political communication, during a recent interview on TVC.
It is both ironic and pathetic and Mr. Bwala – a political turn that has once been the spokesperson for the 2023 presidential campaign by Atiku Abubakar – now presumably holding a lesson to a global resistance statesman on heredity, destiny and retirement issues.
His pontification sanctuary, imbued with bitterness and duplicity, betrays a desperate effort for curry in favor of a folling administration clearly shaken by the unstoppable momentum of the national coalition galvanized by Atiku and other progressive leaders.
Let it be clearly affirmed: Atiku Abubakar does not seek or require validation from political opportunists who have freed the principles with the same ease with which the parties change.
The current relevance of Bwala, if present, is due entirely to the platform that once occupied under the leadership of Atiku – a fact that should breed humility, not arrogance.
The obsession of the Tinubu camp for the political future of Atiku is not a coincidence. If, as they argue, ATIKU is an exhausted force, why the relentless campaign? Why the strategic allocation of the presidential platforms to attack it? The answer is clear: Atiku Abubakar remains the single figure of opposition most formidable in Nigeria and the coalition that is forging represents a clear and current danger for the decomposition building of the party in power.
This large alliance, aimed at claiming Nigeria from economic collapse, in institutional failure and democratic erosion, has clearly ungrapped the elite to power. No quantity of historical or sanctuary revisionism can obscure the fact that Atiku has been a central pillar in the democratic journey of Nigeria since 1999, supporting the reform, renovation and electoral integrity when others have chosen complicity.
The inheritance is not defined by the traps of the office but for courage, consistency and belief. The legacy of Atiku Abubakar – as a uniform, manufacturer and patriot – is deeply engraved in the consciousness of millions of Nigerians. It is waterproof to the revisionist bile of yesterday’s deserters transformed into today’s dysfunction.
We reaffirm, unequivocally, that Waziri Adamawa remains concentrated and unrelated in his commitment for the future of Nigeria. It will not be distracted by political jesters masked by patriots. The rescue and reconstruction of Nigeria are a task of urgent national importance – too important to be derailed by the small ego trips of desperate presidential helpers.
