The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced the postponement of the law enforcement date for the cost and sentence that was just introduced to the upgraded registration portal, shifting the start of August 1 to September 1, 2025.
The delay was revealed in the public notification issued by the commission on Monday, citing the difficulty of the transition that is currently experienced by users who navigate the new platform.
According to the Nigeria News Agency (NAN), the delayed policy was determined to introduce accusations for documents that were not downloaded within seven days after approval, a step that attracted the attention of the business and stakeholders.
The Commission explained that the user has reported several challenges since the launch of the artificial intelligence portal, including problems with document downloads, payment processing failures, complications in postponement submissions for business names, and difficulties in uploading necessary documents.
“We work tirelessly, in addition to our technical partners and stakeholders, to stabilize the system without turning off the entire portal,” Cac said in his statement.
He added that the shift in the enforcement date was a temporary assistance that aims to ease the burden of business and facilitate the smoother transition to an upgraded system.
The commission also noted that the decision was informed by direct feedback from customers and main stakeholders throughout the country.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding,” the notification reads.
CAC has officially launched a registration platform that was upgraded on June 30, 2025, as part of a broader effort to digitize operations, increase service provision, and significantly reduce completion time for business registration and related processes.
