The African Football Confederation (CAF) has introduced a new trophy for the Nation Cup of African Female this year (Wafcon), which will take place in Morocco.
The opening took place today, Wednesday, July 2, in Morocco, in anticipation was built for the Wafcon 2024 tournament.
In a statement on their website, CAF said: “Drawing direct inspiration from the total iconic male totrophone of the Africa Cup of Nations Trophy, this new design represents more than a piece of silver; this is a celebration of equality, unity and excellence.
“The launch of the new trophy is part of the CAF leadership goal to develop and foster women’s football in Africa and make African women’s football among the best in the world.

“This new trophy was celebrated on Wednesday night at an event organized by a long -term CAF and partner, totalenergy in Casablanca, Morocco.
“A striking trophy design, displays identical petals that rotate upwards, each representing the participating national team. Together, they form the form of blooming flowers, growth symbols, empowerment, and eternal beauty.
“This image captures the soccer journey of African women and the lively strength of her athletes.
“Arising from the heart of this elegant flower shape is a golden ball, patterned subtly like football. Decorated with shiny African gold maps, the ball reflects the ambition, pride, and global impact of continents in women’s games.
“Made with brilliant silver and matte gold, the body of the trophy was wrapped in a gold ring carved with the CAF logo, emphasizing the commitment of Teguh Confederation to improve women’s games in all 54 member associations.
“Pangkalan, a pure white marble base with elegant gold accented lines, holds the name of the competition in enhanced Matte Gold letters, strengthening the Women’s Africa Caf Caf Cup cup inheritance in the rich rich in African rugs.”
This year’s tournament will begin on July 5 and end July 26.
