The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Audi, has announced that, henceforth, career advancement courses are now mandatory prerequisites for promotion of agency personnel.
The Commandant General disclosed this in a keynote address delivered at this yearโs Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the NSCDC Cooperative and Investment Society at the National Headquarters, Abuja.
He maintained that all NSCDC training institutes are being given a new phase of upgrading and training programs for all cadres have been developed and currently awaiting full implementation.
The CG also announced that his administration is committed to ending stagnation in the Corps for personnel at grade 14 and below; explained that the beneficiaries were paid in arrears and applauded President Bola Tinubu for all the support while charging the Corps personnel to justify the gesture through hard work.
Regarding the welfare of the staff, the helmsman of the NSCDC, who is the grand patron of the society, commended the national headquarters executive for its programs in providing relief and palliatives to the members and warned that misappropriation of funds into the company will not be condoned but sanctioned. consequentially.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the NSCDC National Headquarters Cooperative Society Limited, Assistant Corps Commander, ACC Aina Oladeji Jones, expressed gratitude to the CG and management team for all the support to the cooperative in their four-year tenure, citing the 90 houses completed and work underway on some at Kuje Housing Estate.
Continuing, he said that from a total membership of 1,500, the society now has more than 1,800 members and revealed that a philanthropist has pledged to help fund the Streamview Hotel and Resort project until completion.
Other highlights of the AGM were the presentation of goodwill messages by a Deputy Director of FCT Cooperative, Segun Salako and a representative of Corrections Cooperative Multiscope Limited, CSC Okechukwu Edward, as well as the presentation of checks to pension beneficiaries and to the next of kin of the deceased Members of the NSCDC who were part of the Cooperative and Investment Society Limited.
