The former African Nations Championship of Nigeria and 2014 (Chan) most valuable player (MVP), Christantus Ejike Uzoenyi, has been appointed director of the Academy of Rangers FC.
The club confirmed the appointment in an official statement on Monday, announcing Uzoenyi for the role of Preatigius.

It was a double celebration for Uzoenyi Ejike who also obtained the coaching license in person of US Soccer Grassroots 11V11, issued on August 4, 2025.
“This milestone is more than a simple certification; it is a powerful symbol of the relentless search for Excellence of Excellence and the deep commitment to youth development,” said the FC Rangers.
“From dazzling in the field as a player to shape the future of football as a coach and mentor, his trip is a story of evolution, determination and purpose.”
The club emphasized that the Coaching credentials of Uzoenyi will further strengthen their vision of promoting young technically qualified, disciplined and mentally resistant soccer players.
EJike Uzoenyi, 37, enjoyed a successful career as a player for clubs such as Enyimba, Enugu Rangers, Rennes and Mamelodi Slowns.
At the international level, he represented Nigeria in 21 games, scoring three goals, and was a member of the winning title of the Super Eagles squads for the 2014 African Nations Cup, the 2014 African Nations Championship where he won the MVP Award.
With its new role and training certification, Uzoenyi will lead the Rangers FC Academy in the development of the next generation of football talents.
