Chartered Super Eagles forced to make emergency landing in Angola en route to Uyo

OwnGoalNigeria.com has revealed the reason why the Nigerian Super Eagles are yet to arrive in Nigeria after yesterday’s 2-1 win over Lesotho in Polokwane.

The Super Eagles were expected to be in Nigeria in the early hours of today but at the time of writing have yet to arrive in Uyo ahead of Tuesday’s match against Benin Republic.

Their visitors are already in Nigeria for the match, where they need to avoid defeat to seal a place in the world cup, unlike Nigeria, who need a win and hope that South Africa cannot beat Rwanda in the other group match.

We learned that the chartered flight calling Super Eagles players from Polokwane back to Nigeria was forced to land in Angola when the pilot announced a broken window in the cockpit at noon after taking off in Luanda, Angola, after an initial stopover in the Angolan capital for refueling.

Reports say there was no visible threat to the lives of everyone on board as the pilot landed the aircraft safely and properly. They are now expected to board another plane bound for Nigeria.
