I remember when their plane crashed. One of the first great losses I felt, especially as a young trumpet player. Ended up in a cover band adding Chase, Chicago, Ids of March, Blood Sweat and Tears. Then disco killed live music . Well at least this song can piss off a few feminists:).
i'll never sell my 'pure music' album or my other chase albums i blasted this album from my quadraphonic zenith stereo back in the mid 70's and the sound in my memory is still blowing me away
I have this album it's great love the cut Run Back to Mama with Jim Peterik on vocal a local Chicago guy musician and songwriter who has the group Ides of March with the hit single I'm Your Vehicle . The group will be playing at City Winery in Chicago on March 6th 2019. I hope they play Run Back To Mama in there set would be a tribute to Bill Chase
Inside: this track cut with the end of Weird Song; was used extensively in the TV Promos for the new World Football League Promo: Screaming out of the TV…
This would be so much better as a marching band instrumental.

How have I never heard this? This is "straight fire" as the kids say nowadays, those horns sound soooooo good!

One of the world's great songs yet hardly known. A miracle in and of itself.
Apparently the main horn riff was inspired by a bird chirping that woke Bill Chase while camping.
Incredible and underrated band. Saw them in concert 4 times. Best horn section ever.
Sheer brilliance.
David Clayton Thomas was enormously influential amongst horn band vocalists, one more case in point being this. Very cool stuff.

Powerful Sound! What a band for the ages! I would do anything to play in a section like that!

Thank you so very much for your postings of Chase! I had actually forgotten how much I loved them. You NEVER hear them on the radio.
