The chief coach of the national senior team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has made some adjustments to the final list of players who will represent the team in the next Unity Cup tournament in England, Owngoalnigeria.com can reveal exclusively.
Chelle has already presented a provisional list to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the players who made the list have been contacted in their availability for the tournament, where they will open their campaign against Ghana on May 28.
A victory in that game will see them face the winner of the other game of the tournament between Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. Nigeria will travel to face Russia in June.
The majority of the team’s stars are expected to skip this tournament and play in the game against Russia, a situation that has forced Chelle to make changes in his favorite final team by adding more players from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Initially, the coach had only three of them, but the number could increase to seven or even more with more established players who are not available for the tournament.
