As part of the activities to mark the day of children of 2025, the general manager of the National Orientation Agency (Noa), Mallam Lanre Issa-Syilu, supported the development of quality education and skills as a tool to achieve total well-being for Nigerian children.
Issa-Honilu also asked for greater support in helping children to discover and develop their unique talents for the growth and development of the nation.
Represented by the director, Abuse, Rights and Narcotics, Theresa Madueke, the DG declared it to the celebration of the day for children in Abuja with pupils of the selected schools, themed “improving the total well -being of children through the education and development of skills”.
ISSA-HONLILE stressed the importance of enhancing children through education.
He said: “The theme speaks of the foundations of a prosperous and progressive society. Education does not only concern the acquisition of knowledge; it is a question of promoting curiosity, trust and self -sufficiency among young people.
“It is a matter of equipping our children with the skills they need to fight in a constantly evolving world because we know that the world in which we find ourselves is dynamic, our communities are dynamic, our values are dynamic but education helps you to model it well and on the part that will make you improve tomorrow.
“Conquer ignorance and puts you in a part that will be useful for you and your neighbor because it doesn’t exist alone in this world,” he said.
He said that the development of skills must start soon whether it is crafts, speak in public, medicine, engineering, to allow children to be nourished to discover their talents.
“You know that we are all unique, nobody is exactly like the other person, these are the things that education will help to model so that the uniqueness in you will highlight positive results in the area of sciences, entertainment, technology and so on.”
He observed that this is in line with the vision of the Noa to develop a Nigerian society that is ordered, responsible and discipline in which “citizens demonstrate the fundamental value of hard work and patriotism”.
